(1992 - 2002)
Not long afterward, the Music Publishing side was extended to include recording activities. In fact, since MULTIPROMO had become a part of the Florentine cultural/musical scene, it could not disregard the increasing phenomenon of independent groups who often disliked collaborating with major companies, preferring independent labels who guaranteed them a more precise type of cooperation and certainly a leas stereotyped product.
The criteria with which MULTIPROMO has worked in its choice of artists has been to privy above all the preparation of the musicianartists who are mainly graduates or popular performers. This is because MULTIPROMO believes that the future of music is in ability raised to the highest levels as a guaranteeing factor of quality and, in second place, originality.
Thus, after intense research in many emerging Florentine venues (Flog, 055, Anfiteatro, etc.), MULTIPROMO's attention focused on two groupes, DE POOKAN and URBANFUNK:, in collaboration with whom its first 2 CDs, "DE POOKAN" and "MR. NO" were recorded.
DE POOKAN Splendid reality of progressive Italian folk music, this band is considered to be a true and proper revelation, even on an international level. Their first CD, named after the band itself, is sung in Gaelic, and Consists of six songs alternating rhythms deriving from CelticIrish folk and progresive English folk. The sound of the acoustic guitar, the Celtic harp and the flute, act as a sonorous Carpet for a warm, celestial female voice.
URBANFUNK The first hearing of their first CD, "MR. NO", fully reveals the musical qualities of the members of this popular band which is, today one of the best known and, we dare to say, much envied musical groups. In this debut recording the group, guided by the eclectic trumpetplayer Franco Baggiani (a Miles Davis with true Tuscan style) offers 6 pieces which, in their rare original and impeccable performance give a pleasant taste of their imminent new CD, "The new urban species will live in a courageous and happy world. URBANFUNK will liven the road with its resonant call."
At the same time as the market launch of its first 2 CDs which were initial given to Florentine shops and some foreign distributors, MULTIPROMO also began to organize its own national distribution network which now numbers around one hundred sales points. Soon after. another three CD were presented to the press;
1) HOPO: "Dietro la finestra"
2) DINO MENICHETTI: 2 Cantatas and 2 Oratorios
3) ACQUARAGGIA: Live
HOPO "Dietro la finestra" This is a new edition of an LP (vinyl) which received favorable reviews in all the main publications and spent several weeks at the top of the Korean Charted considered to be the heirs of ORME, and pioneers of new progressive Italian rock, this album gentle and varied melodies, which should never be taken at face value, following the best tradition of groups such as GENESIS, P.F.M., NEW TROLLS, although this group shiners in its own way.
DINO MENICHETTI Cantatas and Oratorios A writer of holy music who, once again, gives us an example of his skill as a composer and ingenious commentator of immortal and Sacred text including "Saluto all'Italia" (A Salute to Italy) and John the Baptist the birth of the Evangelist, Luke. Menichetti's originality is manifested in the grandiose concept of the musical architecture which accompanies the action described in the texts, never dominating them but rather emphasizing their contents with atmospheres which completely overwhelm the listener.
ACQUARAGGIA "LIVE" This is the second recording from Acquaraggia, guided by Giuseppe Oliverio who is also one of the protagonists of the Florentine musical scene. flock and blues animate the ten tracks on this album, and Oliverio's grating voice combines with Marcello Masi's guitar solos to keep the feeling of this LIVE recording at top level.
GOAD "Tribute to E.A. Poe"- This is selfproduced CD by GOAD called "Tribute to Edgar Allan Poe". This work heralds quality music and, particularly, cultural music. In fact, GOAD approached this project with the intention of combining the poetry of E.A. Poe with musical atmospheres created by Maurilio Rossi. The live show included the participation of a mime whose movements aided by clever lighting work, underline the musical passages .
CD is not more distribuited by Multipromo. Please contact Goad at goad@inwind.it
